DAY 5
day 5 was mostly engaged in finding case studies on cafeteria, i came across some good designs of semi open cafeterias, but again was confused if they are relevant or not, because the project brief says we have a design a space with a future vision, 2020.
i came across a design by FL wright, river view spring green restaurant, its a beautiful river side cafe with a interesting ceiling design. the furniture is quite interesting too.
the project brief of design says it has to be a futuristic design, with new and innovative materials with less carbon footprint. so i intend to focus on material study, and their implications to the design solution. as the materials will eventually change and shape the designs as newer Materials keep coming in to improve the limitations of existing materials....... its a must to understand the future materials....
to end the the day i watched a beautiful play " khwaab saa" by atul kumar at AMC auditorium, with some old friends......

River view spring green restaurant, ceiling and layout
furniture of cafe with wooden chairs bearing castor wheels
some others design i refereed to were similar, it will be a tough task to actually find the right kind of cafe for a design problem that says it has to be futuristic.
like for the example of flying tray from burger king, i think that is a thing with a more carbon foot print, you make a tray that has a carbon emission, you make it fly for the rest of its life that has a huge carbon foot print to it, it requires constant supply of energy to hover...... and it has to have greater carbon emission than a traditional style furniture ???????
