Day 3

  the third day  begun with the discussion on the approach to the design solution for the space planning.

  the importance of case studies both from literature and via visiting in person. We were asked to refer existing furniture designs from featherlite, godrej, space wood herman miller. The idea is to design in a futuristic manner that should reflect in terms of materials and design.

   I had made an analysis of the present state of NID canteen. The attached photographs show the SWOT analysis and a design brief based on that, the points from todays discussion need to be incorporated in that. also for case studies i have identified, zen café at hussain dosi gufa, café at kanoria art center and falafel café at cept. all these places have a similar crowd that NIDs canteen caters to i.e students mostly and are open or semi open spaces.
