Week 4 Day 2            11-04-2017             Today it all has come down to the final exercise of furniture design, of course with the duly fulfilled process  of understanding the reason behind creating something and why and how it needs to be made.......  there was a good discussion on how to come up with a solution that is derived out of a thought process and actually helps tackle down the issues, rather than just another piece  of furniture....               for BMW canteen the issues were :                                                               so i looked at the possible material that could be viable in such a scenario and concrete seems a good solution to that......  a concrete table w...

Week 4 day 1                       the first day of  4th week of DP was half day scoldings by Pravin sir ( with guidance of course  ).... and half day trips to showrooms in Ahmadabad,  the first visit was Herman miller at thaltej....... what i felt was that the furniture there was quite complex in construction and felt  like works of engineering and a lot of complexity in terms of  ergonomics that went in there....very different from what we do here at NID......   beware....... of fake products............look for "the mark" entrance to the showroom some interesting quotes .... harsh figuring out if he can fit in ....... also the back of the chair is perfectly designed as per ergonomics of the human back  some more images metal bar stools some curious minds........ and some pics from steel case ...
